Is this trip right for you?
verified
As there are potholes and cobblestones in many European cities, it's recommended that you leave any wheelie bags/cases at home and bring a backpack instead. As this is an eight-day trip, a large backpack should be enough to carry all of your belongings.
verified
Italy is steeped in majestic old buildings, and often there are no lifts or escalators, particularly in some train stations or hotels. You may have to carry your bags up and down stairs, but the trek will be worth it.
verified
Don’t let the heat keep you from exploring the world! Summer temperatures can be very high in Italy (over 40°C), which can make things uncomfortable. It’s important to use sun protection, wear layers to combat the heat, and drink plenty of water. Please carefully consider the time of the year you wish to travel and your suitability to that season.
verified
Make sure you pack some sturdy and comfortable shoes as there can be a lot of walking around the towns, ruins, and walking trails of this area.

Memorable and wonderful family vacation. The itinerary is excellent and there is still plenty of time for free time. Keep in mind that there are not very many included activities in certain big cities, so you'll need to plan for those (e.x. the Coloseum in Rome). Also, remember to pack light because you and your children will need to manage your luggage on busy sidewalks, stations and trains. Overall, an excellent vacation I'll never forget!

This trip was amazing! Itinerary has been revised in 2024 and the two week trip to Italy was very well organized with great inclusions and our whole family said it was the best trip we’ve ever been on :)

We saw some amazing places and were offered some great activities, however, the accommodation was not what we expected on a comfort trip (having travelled with Intrepid before) and multiple itinerary changes and poor communication by our Tour Leader spolit the experience.
