Why you’ll love this trip
Watch the sun rise over Angkor Wat just as it did over 800 years ago. Wander through the ancient temples of this UNESCO World Heritage site on a guided tour – with a three-day pass to cover your whole time in Siem Reap, you can explore this incredible complex as much and as often as you like!
Discover the temple ruins at Sambor Prei Kuk and enjoy a village homestay to experience everyday life in rural Cambodia, with local food, local life and plenty to see.
Get familiar with Khmer cuisine with an included visit to the acclaimed pepper plantations of Kampot, a cycling tour of local producers in Battambang and a local village dinner in Sambor Prei Kuk.
Put your feet up and enjoy a well-deserved break on the white sand coasts of Koh Rong Island – home to one of the best beaches in Asia (and a few of the Survivor seasons).
Enjoy an in-depth tour of Cambodia at an easy pace, mixed with insightful tours by local guides, plenty of chances to rub shoulders with the locals and free time to customise your adventure.
Is this trip right for you?
You'll be spending a night with a local family on this trip. While the accommodation is shared and basic, this is a great opportunity to connect with the local people (and enjoy delicious home-cooked meals!). Read more about the experience here: https://www.tuuur.com/adventures/cambodia-homestay-experience https://www.tuuur.com/adventures/cambodia-homestay-experience (https://www.tuuur.com/adventures/cambodia-homestay-experience)
This trip uses a mixture of public and private transport for moving around in the country and has some long days of driving, so some patience will go a long way towards your enjoyment.
At times your accommodation may not have continuous hot water. Most travellers don't find this a problem and are often keen to cool down from the heat with a refreshing cold shower!
You will visit a number of temples on this trip, and this requires a level of modesty. Be sure to bring clothes that cover the arms and pants or skirts that go past the knees. A light scarf is also a good idea for covering shoulders and arms when it’s hot.

Cambodia is an amazing country and this trip packed in a lot but also provided plenty of downtime and optional extras. It was fascinating and heartbreaking to learn about Cambodia’s history, and visit many of the temples. A highlight was the home stay in Sambor Prei Kuk with a local family. It’s these kind of experiences that make Intrepid so great. Our guide Chesda was so knowledgable, warm and funny - she took great care of our group, always ensuring we had the best experience. She also provided that special local connection and you can tell she’s built great relationships with the locals in all the places with visited. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone!

For my first Intrepid tour and trip in Asia, I loved it. The group felt like family, our guide was amazing and I learnt so much about Cambodia as we travelled. There were so many new experiences that I loved!

The trip showed us the main attractions but also many great sites and places of interest that are off the tourist trail. Toneth made the whole trip run so smoothly along with the local support staff and guides.

This trip was just the right amount of information about Cambodia but still managed to be fun as well. We saw alot of the country, quite a bit off the beaten track, not just the usual tourist highlights. We enjoyed the stay at Cocunut Beach but due to the weather, found Sok San Beach well worth a visit. A true tropical paradise. Well recommended.

I thoroughly enjoyed the Best of Cambodia trip. Muni our guide was very personable, knowledgeable and organised. I loved the variety of experiences from Killing Fields to Mekong River Cruise, going by local train to Battambang, biking to visit small family businesses e.g. rice paper, dried banana and sticky rice. Siem Reap Is a city that I would like to return to allow more time at Angkor Watt. The home stay and all the wonderful, warm people of Cambodia made this trip. Great tour group of mixed ages all keen to experience Cambodia. Can highly recommend this 14 day trip.

Best of Cambodia was just that. All of the highlight, fantastic guide - thanks Muny. The optional activities were great and I really enjoyed the rest days on the island at the end. I came away with a lot more knowledge of this beautiful country. This is my second Intrepid trip and I’m planning more.
