Why you’ll love this trip
Buenos Aires offers an eclectic mix of European, Cosmopolitan and Latin flavours, as well as a booming cultural and nightlife scene. Explore the neighbourhoods of this lively, confident city on a full-day tour with a local guide.
Look for rainbows in the mist from both the Brazilian and Argentinian sides as you marvel at the power of Iguazu Falls which are higher than Niagara Falls and wider than Victoria Falls.
Visit a local Guarani community to meet some of the region’s few remaining indigenous people and learn how the falls were created when the serpent god M’Boy split the river in half.
Gaze over the dazzling city, mountains and bay of Rio de Janeiro from the foot of the famous Christ the Redeemer statue and immerse yourself in Brazilian culture, dance and music.
Get hands on making empanadas or pizzas for lunch, followed by the quintessential Argentinian sweet treat – alfajores.

My first trip with Intrepid has been the Best of Argentina & Brazil. Buenos Aires and Rio De Janeiro are places I had long wanted to visit, but was hesitant to do so on my own. Intrepid enabled a very smooth journey with plenty of good information ahead of time and once on the ground. I was also lucky to have had both an outstanding guide for the entire journey, but also really good local guides in each destination. They all provided a relaxed, informed, and pleasant experience along the way. Additionally, the others the tour with me were all nice and likeminded people, there was no drama or any issues whatsoever. Any concerns around safety in the locations were alleviated by way of being provided good details, and local guide expertise. The entire trip went smoothly and exceeded my expectations. All beautiful destinations, the waterfalls in Iguazu were absolutely breathtaking, and Rio is such an eclectic and beautiful part of the world. Absolutely recommend both this trip, and any trip with Intrepid based on this experience.

Best of Argentina and Brazil was a fantastic way to see South America for the first time. The itinerary is great, Igazu Falls was such a highlight and great to see from both the Brazilian and Argentinian side. Buenos Aires is also a lovely city with a really nice feel. As a female solo traveller I felt very safe and well looked after by our guide Santi. Our group also got on really well and we had a lot of fun

This is a great trip if you have limited time to spend in South America! A great mix of city in both Buenos Aires and Rio, with the beauty of Foz de Iguazu in the middle of the trip.

Our highlights of Brazil and Argentina was fabulous and a great reminder of how amazing the world outside our home countries can be. Our guide Pedro was very kind, attentive, knowledgeable and a great listener despite us not speaking his native tongue.
