Why you’ll love this trip
Head out on an Alaskan safari for a unique chance to see moose, caribou, grizzly bears, Dall sheep and wolves in their natural habitat in Denali National Park.
Take a boat cruise on Resurrection Bay to Kenai Fjords and look out for orca whales, porpoises and puffins before enjoying some free time to hike or relax.
Discover Seward, one of Alaska's oldest and most scenic communities, then take a short hike to the tongue of Exit Glacier in Kenai Fjords National Park.
Sit back and take in stunning views along the dramatic coastlines of the Turnagain Arm from Anchorage to Homer, then from Seward to Denali National Park, while someone else does the driving.
On the way to charming Talkeetna, take a breath in Girdwood, where you’ll hop on the Alyeska Aerial Tram to the top of Mt Alyeska and see some incredible views of seven glaciers and the valley below.
Is this trip right for you?
While Alaska can experience warm summers, you should still be prepared for cold temperatures and rain.
This trip includes time spent travelling in a private vehicle with your group. Extra space can be tight, and conditions may feel a little cramped. It’s all part of the adventure and a great way to get to know your fellow travellers. Please read the itinerary carefully for travel time estimates.

This was my first tour group trip anywhere and I was anxious about going to a new place with new people. Our tour guide, Candace, made everyone comfortable with her bubbly personality. She was fun and infused every activity with her joy de vivre. Candace also adjusted included meals to meet everyone's needs including my dietary restrictions (gluten free) which wasn't always easy. I plan on taking other trips with Intrepid, maybe even without a friend, or with some of my new friends from this trip.

What a trip. We were blessed with excellent weather, but I think the magic of Alaska would shine even through a more normal weather pattern. The flight to the glacier in the Alaska Range was the high point, but the time in Homer and Seward was wonderful as well. Our guide was informative and helpful and went a long way to making this the trip of a lifetime.

Really great trip to a truly amazing place with a fantastic tour guide and great company within a small group. Itinerary is ideal with stopping points and not too long distance to travel on any one day. Stunning landscapes and wildlife. Love Alaska.

The Best of Alaska trip is a trip to savour and remember. We wanted a trip that would give us an understanding of the history, immense landscapes, flora and fauna of Alaska. What an incredible place! I already want to return and 22 hours of daylight was just an added bonus!

My group leader, Claire, was very friendly and fun to be around. The Denali Flightseeing is a must - it was my favorite moment of the trip. This was definitely a good introduction to Alaska, I learned a lot about this state, and look forward to visiting again for different experiences. Anticipate changing weather, and some drive time, but it was worth it. As a solo traveler, I always felt safe and will use Intrepid again.

Best of Alaska did not disappoint! Our tour guide was exceptional and the venues were beautiful. We were fortunate to have unusually good weather and were able to see wildlife in their natural surroundings. The glacier cruise was a highlight, not be missed!
