Trip Informations
Why you’ll love this trip
verified
Support local communities – visit the first café in Armenia to provide employment opportunities to people living with disabilities, stay by Lake Sevan at a local NGO committed to inclusivity and attend a cooking class where the local women work to preserve Armenian culture.
verified
Enjoy the best local hospitality and get to know the people – head to a Kakheti home for a home-cooked lunch, soak up the scenery (and the drops) in Georgia and Armenia during winery visits and do it all with a local leader by your side.
verified
Hike through The Caucasus Mountains to the 14th-century Gergeti Trinity Church, which sits in isolation at 2170 m above sea level. Then, visit Khor Virap Monastery and Sevanavank Monastery for a view just as impressive as the history.
verified
Explore the Dilijan National Park to Matosavank and Jukhtakvank Monasteries on foot. Discover the area that’s now reclaimed by time and nature and take in the beautiful scenery on hikes.
verified
Veer off the tourist track and explore the lesser visited Georgia – see the Soviet ghost town of Tskhaltubo to wander the abandoned sanatoriums, explore Vardzia’s Cave Town to learn about 12th-century history and walk to Borjomi’s natural mineral springs.
Is this trip right for you?
verified
This trip has a couple of long travel days with a few stops along the way to break up the journey.
verified
You’ll spend a night at a local lodge where the facilities will be simple and shared. Your support for the local NGO and the great location so close to Lake Sevan will more than make up for the lack of modern amenities and you’re sure to have a memorable stay.
verified
Some of the best scenery in the region is found on foot. So, while this trip doesn't require a high level of fitness, it’s essential to be at least moderately fit if you want to partake in all activities. Make sure you bring comfortable walking shoes with good support.

This trip is a combination of two trips. Please review the Itinerary for details of when your fellow travellers and leader will change.
Itinerary
Take an adventure through the Caucuses region, from cathedrals and mountains to wineries and lakes
Head off the beaten track on a 20-day adventure through the Caucuses region, where historical Old Towns and monasteries sit alongside towering skyscrapers. With a local leader by your side, you’ll journey from the Caspian Sea to huge, shimmering lakes, stopping at wineries, small villages, jazzy capitals and the serene countryside. Enjoy a hearty home-cooked lunch with a local Kakheti family, hike to deserted monasteries and the iconic Gergeti Trinity Church and stay overnight in a lake cottage supporting inclusiveness. This trip shows you all the local bits (and highlights) of this gorgeous mountainous area.

I have just finished the 20 Day Azerbaijan, Georgia and Armenia Adventure Tour with our wonderful tour guide Pavel, who made the tour even more amazing. What can I say but “WOW”. Such an incredible part of the world. Spectacular scenery, unbelievable history, wonderful friendly people, great food, wine and beer. I would highly recommend this tour, and if you have the time seriously do the 20 day tour starting in Baku, Azerbaijan, as one of the highlights (and there were many) was the hike up to Gergeti Trinity Church - spectacular.
Thank you Pavel, all our local guides, and the friendly home owners who welcomed us into their lovely homes, and my follow passengers for making this a trip of a lifetime.

This 3 week trip through Azerbaijan, Georgia and Armenia was fantastic. We covered a large area, immersed in culture, tradition, geological landscapes, and local villages to get the most from our trip. We had a wonderful leader, Yulia, and some great local guides in certain villages. Highly recommend this tour.
