Trip Informations
Embark on a tour through the Aegean Sea, taking local ferries around the Cyclades Islands. Indulge in a little island hopping and take the time to uncover remote ruins, gorgeous beaches and outstanding scenery. Travel from the ancient capital of Athens all the way to the spectacular natural wonders on the island of Santorini on this wonderful Greek adventure.
Why you’ll love this trip
Let the rest of the world melt away as you swim and snorkel in the warm waters of the Aegean Sea.
Wander through the charming villages of Syros. When night falls, indulge in delicious seafood dinners in traditional tavernas as Rembetika music floats around you.
With its boutique culture, gorgeous beaches and thumping nightlife, the chic isle of Mykonos invites you to embrace your hedonistic side.
The sight of a Santorini sunset can turn even the most hardened of souls into a romantic. Walk along the volcanic rim of the island from Thira to Oia, passing through white villages that cling to plunging cliffs.
Is this trip right for you?
Please keep your luggage as small and light as possible. You'll be travelling on public transport where storage space is limited. You'll need to be able to lift your luggage into storage racks, walk across cobblestone streets with it and carry it up and down stairs.
The main means of transportation on this trip is by public ferry. These ferries are large car ferries that transport hundreds of people, along with cars and trucks. In most cases there are no reserved seats and passengers are free to walk around the ferry. Luggage is stored in a designated area on the car deck and is not accessible while the ferry is moving.
The Greek Islands are very hilly and mountainous, which means lots and lots of steps. The cobblestone streets also become very slippery when wet. Some people may find Greece's topography very demanding.
Summer temperatures can be extreme in this region (over 40C/104F). It’s important to use sun protection, wear layers to combat the heat, and drink plenty of water. Many hotels in Europe have fans, not air conditioning. Please carefully consider the time of the year you wish to travel and your suitability to that season.
If you have more time to explore Greece, you may want to check out our trip ‘Best of Greece’ (trip code ZMSAC). This trip explores the mainland of Greece in addition to the Cycladic Islands. Alternatively, you could extent your exploration of Greek islands, by joining Highlights of Crete departure. Search trip code ZLSA on our website and ask your travel agent for more details.

An fabulous taste of Greece including Athens Syros Mykonos and Santorini. Having several nights in each destination was a perfect way to get a taste of what each offered. The additional options were economical and well organised. Our leader, Sotos, was outstanding. Bring a small group of 9 was perfect. Highly recommended

Was very happy to join an intrepid trip after weeks of travelling solo. Even though we were a diverse bunch from various backgrounds we all got on really well and we felt like a little family in the end. Highly recommended, particularly for solo travellers!

Intrepid Tours truly offers a personalised travel experience, with guides who help arrange activities tailored to your interests. Throughout the trip, we felt safe, well supported, and confident in our surroundings. We gained valuable insight into the local culture and were introduced to additional attractions and restaurants that exceeded our expectations, making our holiday even more rewarding. Our tour guide was exceptionally organised and had extensive local knowledge, with strong connections to the community and local businesses, which greatly enhanced our overall experience. We will definitely be booking another Intrepid tour in the next 12 months.

Our tour leader Nasos was absolutely amazing. Without him our trip would not have been possible and nowhere near as enjoyable. He gave off amazing energy and knew all the local places to visit that gave an authentic feel to the trip rather than just visiting the tourist hot spots. Absolutely 10 out of 10. We were also extremely lucky to have Ana amazing group of people on our tour which also made things amazing.

Trip covered 3 islands and one UNESCO site. Though the islands were beautiful and I had an engaging trip, I feel some additional time would have helped to enjoy more
