Trip Informations
Why you’ll love this trip
Ascend to the clouds and reach an altitude of 5416 metres as you cross the Thorung La Pass along the Annapurna Circuit. Testing your mind and body, this is one incredible accomplishment.
Uncover a different side of the Himalayas, trekking past terraced rice fields, oak and rhododendron forests, there’s a diverse array of nature that awaits in the Annapurna region.
Learn about life in Nepalese mountain communities, get to know locals and meet other trekkers while you stay in teahouses in the small communities along the way.
Discover Nepal’s compact capital in Kathmandu. With a limited amount of time spent here to discover its bazaars and temples, why not extend your stay beforehand to get a real feel of Nepalese culture.
Spend time in the peaceful haven of Pokhara after your trek has finished. Relax with your small group on the banks of Phewa Lake and take in the mountainous surrounds that you have conquered!
Is this trip right for you?
This trip involves an 11-day trek at high altitude (up to and above 5000 metres) – precautions and acclimatisation are undertaken, but be aware of the effects altitude can have. An excellent level of fitness is required on this trip, with treks of up to 9 hours a day at high altitude. See our guide to trekking in the region here to help decide if this trip is what you are looking for in a holiday: https://www.tuuur.com/adventures/annapurna-circuit-hiking-guide https://www.tuuur.com/adventures/annapurna-circuit-hiking-guide (https://www.tuuur.com/adventures/annapurna-circuit-hiking-guide)
With climate change the weather on the Annapurna Circuit is becoming less predictable, and high risk weather conditions can cause significant damage to the trail even outside of rainy season, and during the winter months the Thorong La Pass can be closed due to heavy snowfall. Should this occur, alternative arrangements will be made by your group leader, and you might switch to the Annapurna Base Camp itinerary instead. For further details: https://www.tuuur.com/au/nepal/annapurna-base-camp-trek-144945 https://www.tuuur.com/au/nepal/annapurna-base-camp-trek-144945 (https://www.tuuur.com/au/nepal/annapurna-base-camp-trek-144945)
Accommodation on this route is in simple teahouses, which also allows you to experience the friendly spirit of the local Nepalese people.
Please read our packing list for required equipment carefully, and remember that you don’t necessarily have to bring it all with you – you can hire or buy some of it in Kathmandu.

Important notes
1. A single supplement is available if you’d prefer not to share a room on this trip. The single supplement will only be included on Days 1,13,14 (Hotel) and is subject to availability. Please speak to your booking agent for further information.
2. You must bring 2 passport size photographs for your trekking permit.
3. Due to the demands of travelling at high altitudes a Passenger Self Assessment Form is required for this trip. Please also see here for information:
4. With climate change the weather on the Annapurna Circuit is becoming less predictable, and heavy rains have on occasions causes significant damage to the trail even outside of rainy season. Should this occur, and local conditions make trekking the circuit unsafe, we will switch to the Annapurna Base Camp itinerary instead. See
for further details.
5. There are dirt roads stretching from Besisahar until Manang. Travellers may need to walk on the road in most of the trekking sections at the beginning. We try to use the alternate walking track to avoid the road as much as possible. The jeep ride from Kagbeni to Kalopani on Day 12 is also on a dirt road and can be bumpy.
6. This trip ends in Pokhara. Tuuur offers a pre-arranged transfer and flight service option back to Kathmandu airport. Enquire with your agent at least 30 days prior to your trip departure.
7. You must bring an emergency fund of USD 500 in cash with you on this trip, which you may need to use in case of delayed or cancelled flights. This is especially important should you choose to opt to take a helicopter as this will be at the travellers expense.
8. As this trip ends in Pokhara, if you wish to transfer your stored luggage from Kathmandu to Pokhara, we can arrange this by a private vehicle. Additional cost is 100 USD. This cost is divided among the interested participants.
9. Please be aware that in the event of an emergency evacuation, Tuuur does not have control over which helicopter service may be used. Some helicopters are not in regular use with Tuuur and have not passed our internal safety auditing.
10.Your health and safety is our priority. Your leader may delay or stop your ascent based on your medical conditions and AMS symptoms. Please ensure your insurance includes coverage for activities above 5500m, mountain rescue, and helicopter evacuation costs. Without adequate insurance cover, helicopter evacuation requires upfront payment.

This was a trip I was planning for a number of years. It not only lived up to expectations, it blow them out the water. This was due to our Guide and his team. Bichitra was immense, knowledge of geography, history, environment. Always energetic and enthusiastic, always smiling. Always very helpful. Always happy to answer questions. I feel very lucky to have him on this trip.

Going with intrepid meant we got to hear about the people and wildlife who live around Annapurna from a local, and we could look forward to comfortable accomodation and good food with the insider knowledge that our guides brought. I'd recommend it to anyone who wants to travel in a small group knowing that they'll be well taken care of.

We had a great time on the Annapurna Circuit Trek! We have been very lucky to have such a great team with Bichitra as our guide and Sonya + Min as his assistants. Everything was perfectly organised and in addition to the great views and the wonderful treks, we learned a lot about the culture and the mountains of Nepal. I would definitely recommend this trek!

The views are absolutely INSANE! A must-do trek! The first few days are slow but it’s well worth it for the views you get when you really start gaining altitude!!

Just want to reiterate how amazing the trip was made by our guides and porters. You can really tell how seasoned Dip is, never uncertain about anything, always has the information you need and so easy to converse with. Just a great bloke honestly. Dawa was amazing as well, can certainly see him leading a trip like this in the not too distant future, every time he briefed us for the following day it was clear and concise, and we were left without any questions and with a good laugh. Very personable, informative guy who we loved having with us. Also set a great pace when leading from the front. Subin was amazing as well. Extremely kind hearted, you can tell he is more green in the job than Dip or Dawa but he is well on his way. Again, extremely informative and helpful throughout, and very easy to have a chat with. Loved his pace as well. Our porters were always on time, and great to have a laugh with as well. Jay was particularly good, great to have a chat with and spoke really impressive English too. Would jump at the opportunity

A great trek during winter for those who want a challenge aside from summoning a mountain.
