Trip Informations
Why you’ll love this trip
Admire the diverse Himalayan landscape as you hike through remote villages, fairy-tale forests, vast moorlands cut by cascading rivers and the blue-hued peaks of base camp as they glow under starlight!
Experience a magical sunrise over the Annapurna ranges from the spectacular heights of Poon Hill – an early morning hike to this prime spot will be well worth the effort.
Relax and unwind in Pokhara after your trek, choose to cruise along Phewa Tal (Lake) and gaze up at snow-capped mountains or opt for a relaxing massage to rejuvenate those tired legs.
Be accompanied by an experienced trek leader along with assistant guides and porters, who will not only give you all the support and guidance you need along the way, but also introduce you to the rich local Sherpa culture.
Know that you are supporting a company that operates their treks according to standards that provide respectful, safe and fair working conditions not only in Nepal, but on all trips globally.
Is this trip right for you?
There are 10 days of strenuous trekking on this trip. You’ll be trekking up to 8 hours a day and at altitudes over 4000 metres at times, so you need to be aware of altitude sickness. Visit https://www.tuuur.com/en/altitude-sickness for more information. https://www.tuuur.com/en/altitude-sickness (https://www.tuuur.com/en/altitude-sickness)
It’s very important it is to be in excellent fitness and health, which means training in the lead up to your trip in order to be best prepared.
The trekking lodges, known as teahouses, that you stay in on the trek are very simple with only basic facilities. Hot water may not always be available and may cost extra, as will access to electricity points for charging devices. Wifi is available at some locations, but connections may be poor.
What you need to take will vary depending on the season you are trekking in and it’s important to be prepared. See some tips for what to pack here: https://www.tuuur.com/adventures/packing-guide-for-trekking-in-nepal/ https://www.tuuur.com/adventures/packing-guide-for-trekking-in-nepal/ (https://www.tuuur.com/adventures/packing-guide-for-trekking-in-nepal/)
The Annapurna trek is a popular route and you will encounter many other trekkers and groups on your trip during your hike and at the teahouses. If you are after a trek that sees less travellers and spends more time trekking through communities rather than on a more established route, see our Tamang Heritage & Langtang Valley Trek (HNXV).
Due to the nature of outdoor travel, please be aware that this trip will operate on an amended itinerary in high risk weather conditions.

The Intrepid trek to Annapurna Base Camp in Nepal was one of the best things I have ever done. To be in the Himalayas with such excellent guides and porters was amazing. I will remember the trek for a long time and encourage anyone who enjoys mountains to give it a try. You won't be disappointed.

This trip is absolutely phenomenal. Highly recommend to anyone considering a trip to Annapurna Base Camp with Intrepid. The trek is physically and mentally challenging but it is 100% worth every step. Our leader, Prem, and assistant leaders, Padam and Hari, had outstanding knowledge and expertise of the mountains and Nepal’s culture. They were always quick to support members of the group during challenging conditions, while also being an absolute joy to chat with, learn about culture and share the experience of trekking through the mountains. Please support the porters with developing their English speaking skills by chatting and getting to know them. All guides start off as porters! Such a fantastic trip. Just book it!

Excellent experience and the most incredible time spent in the mountains!! Definitely some physical days but adequate time to rest and recover. Cannot thank our guides (Niraj, Kumar & Prem) enough for their help in making this a trip of a lifetime!

This is an excellent trip! The scenery is stunning the whole time, and you get to see a variety of jungle, village and alpine landscapes. Hiking in the mountains is physically challenging but in a good way that makes you feel proud at the end of each day of the steps that you walked. The food is great, and I am gluten free and was able to be accommodated on the trip. Highly recommend booking this.

Bichitra, Saru and Kumar were an incredible team in leading us to Annapurna Base Camp. So professional, caring and easy to talk to. They were so passionate about sharing the Nepalese culture with us and I loved trying the Dahl Baht and Momo’s.

A huge thank you to Chandra, Man, Padam and the porter team Krishna, Aashis, Yogesh and Yam - you made the ABC trek more than just the achievement of a physical challenge and viewing of beautiful scenery, but instead it was a life-changing experience that I will never forget.
