Trip Informations
Why you’ll love this trip
Kayak the calm waters of Resurrection Bay among the mountain vistas and look out for sea otters, seals, bald eagles, porpoises and leaping salmon. Then, head out on a beach walk and rainforest hike, stopping by a waterfall.
Walk atop the ice of the largest car-accessible glacier in Alaska – the Matanuska – on an educational tour led by a local Alaskan guide and glacier expert (with all technical gear provided).
Cycle the paved Tony Knowles Coastal Trail like the locals do as it hugs the shore of Cook Inlet and travels through coastal marshes over forested hills. Soak in the amazing views of Mount Susitna as you go.
Visit Denali National Park – home to the tallest peak in North America (Denali) – and witness the gorgeous scenery of this Alaskan hotspot.
Hike the spectacular Triple Lakes Trail, Denali National Park’s longest trail, which has great views of Riley Creek, towering mountains and the three Triple Lakes.
Is this trip right for you?
There are hikes on this trip, so a reasonable level of fitness is required to enjoy all activities to the fullest. It’s also essential that you’re both confident and competent in riding a bicycle.
Alaska is a big state, so be prepared for some long drives. That said, it means you’ll get the chance to pass through some of the incredible scenery that Alaska has to offer.

Thoughtful and well-planned itinerary, lodging was comfortable, activities were enjoyable, good mix of time spent together as a group and exploring independently. Our guide was a joy to spend the week with as well. Would absolutely recommend to anyone.

I highly recommend the Alaska Adventure: Bike, Hike, and Kayak level 3. The 20 mile bike ride was fairly flat with a few hills. Most of the hikes were between 2 to 3miles in length, but the 10.5 hike into Denali was more than I expected. Our guide took his time though, so no one ever really felt left behind if you had to walk more slowly. The Kayaking was amazing and so was the little hike in the rainforest. I loved traveling in the van with a small group of 10 and all of the people in our group were very friendly and fun. It was great for my husband to just be a passenger in the van and enjoy the scenery rather than driving and parking. The hotels were great. The food was simply 3 breakfasts provided by the hotels. The tour provided 2 lunches, but the rest of the meals we were on our own. Plan on an additional $50 a meal for those you have to pay for on your own. I will absolutely do another Intrepid trip. It was great!!!

What an amazing trip! Alaska is beautiful and this is a great way to see a small slice of it the best way possible, getting out and being active! If you just sit on a bus, you're going to miss the best parts. Highly recommend!

I was nervous about doing a group trip. I was also nervous about doing a solo trip however, not sure if I would get bored or lonely on a fully independent trip. I needed a way to ease in. The Intrepid small groups, positive mission, and active itineraries felt like a good balance - so I split the difference by doing a few days on my own before joining the group tour. I am so glad that I did!! The Alaska Hike Bike and Kayak Experience with Travis far exceeded my expectations in every way!! Our group had such an amazing week. The food, the scenes, the knowledge, the physicality and activities... (did I mention the food!?!!) Everything about it was just fantastic. So much fun!! Thanks for everything. Can't wait for the next one!

Wes was the perfect trip leader. The perfect mix of easy-going and professional, committed to this being a good experience for everyone. His love of Alaska was so very evident, as was his experience and skill as a trip leader. The Bike/Hike/Kayak trip was a mild physical experience, a fine intro to Alaska.

Awesome trip through Alaska! We were able to do a lot in a short period of time and our guide was knowledgeable, clearly loved Alaska and made our time memorable. The hikes and kayaking allowed us to get away from the crowds and experience the awe of the landscape.
