Trip Informations
This nine-day trip will tick all your boxes – outdoor adventures, bustling city life and an introduction to the slower pace of the Nepali countryside. Start and end your trip in Kathmandu's bustling metropolis with your small group of fellow solo travellers, explore Durbar Square and wander the vibrant streets. Pull on your adventure boots and hit the road outta town for a rafting experience and stay on the riverside by the Trisuli River with your new friends. Then, band together and trek the Annapurna region. Enjoy the chance to stay with local families along the way, including in a remote village in Hemjakot where you’ll tuck into a home-cooked dinner.
Why you’ll love this trip
Get wet and wild on a whitewater rafting adventure on the Trisuli River (the most popular river in Nepal for rafting), where you’ll zoom downstream next to giant boulders and gorges and between bright green hills.
Stretch your legs on an awesome three-night, low-altitude trek through rural villages and rhododendron forests, taking in views of the Annapurna Ranges.
Kick back in super-Zen Pokhara, where you can take a boat out and float the day away on the smooth waters of Phewa Lake. Cruise beneath behemoth mountains and find serenity.
Start and end your trip in the bustling metropolis of Kathmandu – explore Durbar Square, wander the chaotic streets or simply kick back with a relaxing massage to soothe those post-four-day-hike feels.
Enjoy some local hospitality with a homestay with a local family in Hemjakot – this community’s architecture reflects the traditional style of the Himalayas. Get an insight into countryside culture as you take in the views from a traditional teahouse.
Is this trip right for you?
There are some long travel days on roads that seem to be permanently under construction. What looks like a short distance on a map can take a long time to complete. Plenty of patience (and maybe some good podcasts at the ready) will go a long way toward your enjoyment of the journey.
Outside of the main towns, Nepal can be a quiet place, with few tourist attractions and options for organised activities or meal choices. There is plenty of time for your own exploration or relaxation. Don't expect each day to be action-packed, but be ready to seek out your own, more simple cultural experiences.
This trip is part of a longer itinerary. You might be joining travellers who have already spent some time together. If you have more time to explore, you might like to check out Epic India to Nepal.

This trip to Nepal is an excellent get away with limited screen time where you really are immersed in nature, surrounded by local expertise. White water rafting first is an experience, it’s exhilarating and there is also loads of nature and history along the way. The birds are quite something special, make sure you ask loads of questions to the team they have loads of knowledge. Swimming in the river is special. Then you head up to the mountains, the roads are bumpy but that’s Nepal and you arrive into Pokhara- early morning before you start your trek is a wonderful time to see the city and the sunrise. It’s steep up up and down down - the sights are beautiful, it’s not an incredibly long trek it is mountainous so be respectful of your fitness to ensure you don’t slow down the guides or groups. It is beautiful with wonderful places to stay in historical towns along the way. Would highly recommend!

This trip was amazing. But it isn’t for the faint of heart. Ensure you are fit, and prepared for all sorts of weather and creature encounters! Pack for rain if you go in September!
