On Short Breaks, you maintain a good level of independence and freedom, with the added bonus of having the details sorted out for you. You’ll have lots of free time and you won’t be accompanied by a Trip Leader. This means that all included activities and tours will be run by different local Tuuur partners, and these may operate independently from each other. The included activities and transfers will operate on a join-in basis, which means that you could have your Adventure all to yourself, or others may join you along the way. If you would prefer to travel in a group with a dedicated Trip Leader, just get in touch with your booking agent and they will take you through some alternatives.

The transport to and from Kruger National Park will be in a 13-seater minivan. This is a shuttle service that departs daily. You may be sharing this shuttle ride with other travellers booked on different trips and itineraries to you.

As the early bird catches the worm, the early camper sights the animals. There will be many early starts either to make use of the better safari time or to beat the morning traffic on long travel days.

Regardless of where you stay, power cuts and breaks in hot water are sometimes unavoidable, as in any developing country. In particular, South Africa suffers from load-shedding: rolling blackouts that are engineered specifically to share out available power in the region.

Excellent drivers (Mister B., Daniel, Sam). Very smooth process and uncomplicated. We had a trip of a lifetime!!! The accommodation is a bit too far away and vegetarian options could be improved in the hotel. However, the rest was perfect!

This is a great way to see Kruger and the 4 day experience was perfect for us. We enjoyed the optional boat tour of the canyon. Meals were superb and the game drives were fantastic.

The 4 day safari was excellent value for money. The accommodation & meals were to a good standard and the fun of staying in a permanent tent added to the experience. All the staff, from the transfer drivers to/from JNB, the hotel staff and in particular Harrison on the safari itself were friendly, knowledgeable and professional - I highly recommend if like us, this is your first safari!

Our Kruger Lodge Experience was saved by the wonderful Solly from Intrepid who we were so lucky to have as our guide for two days in Kruger National Park. The breadth and depth of his knowledge was amazing. We learnt a lot and developed a greater appreciation for the adaptability of the wide range of animal species and the importance of maintaining a balanced ecosystem.
He was entertaining, friendly and caring during two long days of driving and viewing.
The accommodation however was neither “tastefully decorated” nor “comfortably appointed”.
