On Short Breaks Adventures, you maintain a good level of independence and freedom with the added bonus of having the details sorted out for you. You’ll have lots of free time and you won’t be accompanied by a trip leader. This means that all included activities and tours will be run by different local Tuuur partners, and these may operate independently from each other. The included activities and transfers will operate on a join-in basis, which means that you could have your adventure all to yourself, or others may join you along the way. If you would prefer to travel in a group with a dedicated leader, just get in touch with your booking agent and they will take you through some alternatives.

Regardless of where you stay, power cuts and breaks in hot water are sometimes unavoidable, as in any developing country. In particular, South Africa suffers from load-shedding: rolling blackouts that are engineered specifically to share out available power in the region.

Our guide Ed was lovely and very knowledgeable, the tour was an enjoyable day learning more about Cape Town and the surrounding areas history. We stopped at a lovely place in Simons Town for lunch and will be dreaming about the prawn sauce for a long time! The hotel was really nice, with very welcoming staff and views of Table Mountain from the pool and bar. The breakfast was yummy with a range of options. The wine tour was a great day, although there was a large amount of driving to and from the region and in-between each vineyard. The first vineyard was a brilliant experience, such a lovely setting, and the last vineyard with gorgeous views of the valley from the balcony. However the second vineyard was really disappointing. There was no service and we just got handed a price list for shipping wine. The hotel was situated just off Kloof street where all the restaurants and bars are located - definitely recommend the Fat Cactus! We had plenty of time to explore and do our own thing whilst there as well.

It’s not worth the cost. It’s 2 days, not 5. You’re on your own for 3 days. It’d be better to book a hotel room and take day tours.
I decided to arrive a day early. Intrepid billed me $260 for the extra night. I booked it directly for only $116.

Do not book this tour.
Waste of money!
All that you get is a hotel.
They will forget about you and you will not have any activities. Leaving you last minute to book everything. Contacted intrepid over 20 times with generic responses. Still haven’t got an answer…
